Candace Mae Gruber – Consultant, Coach, Trainer
Candace Mae Gruber is a woman of determination and dedication. Her life has taken many steps out of her comfort zone to become the dynamic woman, trainer, and leader she is today.
Candace Mae says,
“It’s not what you know, it’s what you do
with what you know that counts.”
“People matter and transformation is real.“
“We lead out of who we are on the inside.“
As you can see from her bio, she has totally transformed her life!
Candace Mae was born the youngest of 5 children in Warren, MI. Her father, the youngest of 14-children, had only a 3rd-grade education. Her mother, an only child, was in college while pregnant with her. Her mother would go on to obtain her master’s degree and became an elementary school teacher and world-traveler. At 19, inspired by her mom, Candace Mae wanted to become her-best self without restrictions. So, she packed up, and she drove 2,600 miles across the US to CA
Three days before she turned 21, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. After much trauma on account of the baby’s ill health, an abusive husband, and a lack of local support structure, she was devastated! With all of this plus several events from her childhood, she was diagnosed with PTSD. She was blessed to attend a Christian college that provided 4-years of healing, restoration & deeper development of her faith.
Candace Mae’s ’30s were foundational years when she married, purchased a home, had two more children, obtained her master’s degree, and established her career. Her growth resulted in a divorce and she became a single mother of 3. At 35, she was introduced to Dr. John C. Maxwell as a mentor. Candace Mae went deep into studying the 21-Laws of Leadership and the 17-Laws of Teamwork and internalized this work and used it with her corporate teams. She was also a part of John’s Maximum Impact group where she received monthly CDs and Workbooks for personal growth.
When she was in her 40’s her oldest child graduated and moved out leaving her alone with the two youngest. She had a boss who pushed for a personal relationship, despite being unavailable. She hit an emotional bottom for the second time. It took her 6-7 months to re-stabilize. She was able to leverage this by having her employer cover the costs to participate in the Ultimate Leadership 5-day Retreat-Conference which included her first 360-degree evaluation.
The Ultimate Leadership Conference was a powerful training experience unlike any other she had attended. Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend have been influential mentors in her life. Their didactic lectures focused on leadership, developing staff as well as personal growth, and the interpersonal dynamics in relationships. Candace Mae gained much personal insight that helped identify core behavior challenges and helped her gain the necessary restructuring to catapult positive behavior changes. A real transformation occurred in her thought processes and behavior that empowered her to become a better leader. She left the experience with an action plan for continued personal and professional growth.
Candace Mae has learned that leadership is more than skill and talents. She says “We lead out of who we are on the inside“. This one-week intensive has been proven to achieve significant personal revelation and profound shifts in behavior. Today, Candace Mae uses this knowledge to advance her clients. Her signature Transformational Growth Program is based on this model.
